"Spoerri has a genius for combining proto techno rhythm tracks with hooky keyboard textures and found sound. The more you listen, the more you lose yourself in the rogue machinary of his feverish constructions. In the liner notes Spoerri hints that more discoveries may be on the way. Let's keep our fingers crossed. (scorebaby.com)

CD Double Brain

THE DUO OF JOEL VANDROOGENBROECK (BRAINTICKET) AND BRUNO SPOERRI -
THE LIVE RECORDINGS OF SOME SENSATIONAL CONCERTS - BACK IN THE EIGHTIES !!!
-
Joel Vandroogenbroeck is a Belgian - Swiss musician and composer. He studied in Belgium during his early years, followed by numerous tours and concerts all over Europe, Scandinavia, Africa with known jazz soloists of that time: Jacques Pelzer, Barney Wilen, Bobby Jaspar, Eric Dolphy, Zoot Sims, Eje Thelin etc...
During the years 68-78, as an abrupt change, he took part on the cultural and musical revolution and created in Switzerland the experimental-rock group BRAINTICKET, that is now recognized of having been an important wing of the Krautrock movement. Besides of this, he composed and took part on numerous theater and ballet productions in Switzerland (Celestial Ocean, Frauen of Trachis), and TV films (H.P.Giger). Later studied indian music, also gamelan in Bali, worked on various compositions for choirs (Kontrapunkt) and modern dance productions, also performed in San Francisco-USA (Djerassi Foundation). He still works with the BRAINTICKET concept, that is not a group anymore but metamorphosed ideas. (Alchemic Universe. http://www.brainticket-art.com) and is also studying multimedia and internet technology for possible new ways of wider artistic expression.

Alphageneric#Taurus : "ISLAND OF LOST TAPES"

CD Inzec Records 009 (distr. by Disctrade)

«Island Of LostTapes» klingt erstaunlich homogen. Und zeigt einmal mehr, dass man Elektronika auch mit Seele herstellen kann." (bb)

CD Albert Mangelsdorff - Bruno Spoerri - Christy Doran - Reto Weber:
Shake, shuttle and blow (1999) (enja records ENJ-93742)

Jazz quartet 'movin' on' offers finely played straight ahead jazz with a difference: saxophonist Bruno Spoerri's computer-assisted playing. Spoerri, an excellent player in the conventional sense, utilizes David Rokeby's 'very nervous system' (which generates control data by means of a video camera interpreting Spoerri's physical gestures) to trigger and play musical patterns, rhythms and textures. The results add a canvas of textural sound and machine-like rhythms. Spoerri also plays a MIDI wind controller, the 'synthophone', offering an additional type of timbre to his sound repertoire. The quartet also features highly regarded trombonist Albert Mangelsdorff, known from the European art music and avant garde jazz scene. Reto Weber's non-western hand drums supplement keenly played traps, adding spice to the group's sound mix, rounded out by the skillful playing of guitarist Christy Doran. (www.cdemusic.org)

LES ELECTRONICIENS (original title "Konzert für elektronischen Fahrschalter, Hubhydraulik, elektrische Gitarre und Synthesizer")
Bruno Spoerri (comp, arr, sy) with Thomas Moeckel (g), Martin A. Grütter (d). Rec. in Dietikon. September 25, 1971 was realized for the Lansing company as promotional EP. Without my consent and knowledge the english company JAZZMAN released it (somewhat distoretd and in wrong order) as Single and later on CD, and later on, too, on a compilation in Italy. I only have one of the original EPs left - so I can't sell them, but on the CD/LP "Glückskugel" from finderskeepersrecords you can hear the original music!

"Most of the tracks are nice and some of the tracks are even great (e.g. "Les electroniciens" by Bruno Spoerri is a superb slice of library jerk-beat which is interrupted, every now and then, by the goofiest electronic noise on the left side of Perrey & Henry)..... it does not say anywhere whether the original artists are receiving any money from this compilation - (pv)

----of course they aren't!!!!

CD Hardy Hepp - Bruno Spoerri: Hepp - Demo - Spoerri (1976)

Here's a special offer, a limited edition! This CD, charming light jazz, is the result of a rather strange (non-) collaboration between Swiss rock singer-poet Hardy Hepp and (then) analog synthesizer specialist Bruno Spoerri in 1967. Hepp demo-recorded some of his songs with the help of an old piano and a harmonium in Spoerri's studio. Bruno later (and secretly) added his jazz interpretations, using saxophones, lyricon, and the many synthesizers that he had at that time. He then presented the result to an astonished Hardy and they made an LP, which quickly became a collector's item. This CD is a limited (500 copies) and privately produced re-edition.
